University of Limerick

Just outside Limerick, the third largest city in Ireland, is the University of Limerick. The city, founded as a Viking fortress over a thousand years ago, still contains many architectural reminders of its past and offers students a lively cultural, artistic, and theatrical scene. Galway, Cork, Tipperary, and Kerry are all reachable for a day's excursion. The University itself, sits on the 160-acre site of a great former estate on the banks of the river Shannon, three miles from Limerick city. Facilities include modern, well-equipped classrooms, a student center with lounges, a theater, and an art gallery. The University has gained a national reputation for its programs in business and engineering, and its campus offers modern state-of-the-art technology in its programs.
